"I had a lovely stay at Casa da Cisaltina. Fatima, the owner, made me feel right at home and was very helpful with information about things to do in the area and suggestions! The breakfast was delicious and included her homemade jams. There is a wonderful view out the backyard of the northside of the caldera. Added bonus is the parking on site - a car is definitely necessary in the Povocao area and eastern side of the island. "

"The steps from the parking lot to the front door are a challenge, but I’m 70 and I did it. The reward is an experience you will never duplicate anywhere else. The waves crash against the shore 10 feet from your head as you lay in bed. Sounds trite, but you are truly one with nature. There is no one else around. Just you. Both daunting and glorious at the same time."

"I enjoyed the feeling of having my own pad in Nordeste! The parking was super easy with quick access to the home. It was a bit chilly to use the pool but coming home to them every day was a nice experience. The interior of the home was functional and modern while upholding the charm of a Nordeste home. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking to escape the fast pace of normal life. Thanks for everything!!"

"Our group of 5 adults had a wonderful week at House of Hydrangeas, a very comfortable home with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was so relaxing hearing the surf and the waterfall. "The location is challenging to get to but the property with the 2 pools overlooking the water is worth the drive. Some updating is required especially in the hallways to the rooms. Rooms are updated and beautiful. We needed a light replaced and a slow water faucet to be fixed. The reception is very helpful and accommodating. Very knowledgeable about the island. Breakfast is a buffet and not worth it if you are expecting a North American standard. "
