"The room was very nice in first appearance, but as you look a little closer it was a bit tired and in need of a bit of updating/painting. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful although breakfast staff seemed a little overwhelmed sometimes, eg I asked for toast with my breakfast on the first morning but it never came even after asking twice. "The stay was great. Me and my partner would deffo come again, the only 2/3 issues we had were the shower and bed. The bed- was very noisy. You would either just sit on it or move to a comfier position and it would sound like it’s waking the whole hotel up. The shower- the drainage wasn’t great as the basin was full, luckily we didn’t have a shower long enough to over flow, and on the not showering long enough, my partner couldn’t wash her hair properly as the shower went freezing even with...

"Vivienne was very helpful and full of information! The house is lovely and right on the bus line to take you to the major attractions (and hop on hop off busses). It’s even walkable. The room was small, but functional, as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh!"

"The area was lovely and a nice walk uphill towards Edinburgh centre. The room was incredibly clean, brew facilities in room available, working heater and tv, comfy bed. The owner was very warm and welcoming, breakfast is available also which is a pro for some. Only cons: bad shower pressure, jammy door lock, and jammy window"

"Great spot! Check-in was a bit rough; I didn't have service, so I didn't get the email about self-check-in, and when I did get the info it led to an occupied room. We got it sorted shortly and onward was a great, comfy spot."

"6 Brunton Place was a step back in time, but with all the subtle amenities and luxuries of modern day! Our host Hillary was impeccable, polite, friendly, and very informative. "Stayed for 1 night while in the city for a family event. Decor is dated in places but the room was comfortable and clean. We stayed in one of the rooms that had a shared bathroom. "I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Each room has a kitchenette in it. The rooms are extremely quiet and come with blackout shades. It's located on the Royal Mile so you are surrounded by all sorts of shops, restaurants, etc. I felt very safe in this area. So many things to see -- very historic. "

"This is a wonderful location right below the castle. Every morning we woke up to a gorgeous view! Peaceful street, one block from all of the Grassmarket shops and restaurants, and it was so easy to walk everywhere in town. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay there again!"

"By far the best area to stay in as it’s close to everything and the facility is amazing on top! As you stand at the front door you have the most up close & amazing view of Edinburgh Castle (which is fully lit up at night). Directly across the street are the most amazing restaurants that truly you don’t need to eat anywhere else. If weather is not the best- U we is quick and reasonable. Facility pool/sauna is a nice add on when doing a lot of walking about and the breakfast add on is big and delicious (you can adjust it depending on your tastes but we did the full breakfast with it all in and it was amazing, including the haggis. You MUST let your tastebuds do the talking in haggis and NOT your mind. It is fabulous!). Staff very courteous and they do provide online options and bag storage. Overall- great spot & great value for the money! "

"Pods were clean and bathrooms were clean. Location is within Edinburgh old town so it’s quite close to many attractions such as St Giles, National Museum of Scotland and 10-15 min walk to many other sites such as Holyrood Palace and Dean Village. "
