"Lovely place to stay. Room was spotless. You could tell entering the room that the couple who own the property were truly passionate about the hotel. Nice little extras like biscuits/chocolate/shampoo/shower gel. Nice selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Hotel in a nice location - 1 mile walk from train station, quiet nice area near race course, but also close to City Centre"

"Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. "This was just what we needed for a short weekend break to York. The host was amazing, especially when our arrival to York was very delayed, our check in process was not impacted. The room had everything we needed, and the location was great, a short walk into the city centre. We would come back again when in York!"

"Great location, right in the City Centre. A small but very different room giving the feeling you have travelled back in time, but with a little modern comforts. Heating and fridge!! Expensive, but then so is all accommodation in York. Quirky, bit pleased we have ticked this one off our list of places to stay. Probably not suited to an extended stay, one or two nights only. But an experience. 👍"
