"The location is excellent and the inn full of character. The staff were all lovely and breakfast well presented and very good quality . The room was clean and pleasant, but as it was overlooked by both the City Walls and the beer garden I had to keep the curtains closed. Also the industrial extractor fan for the kitchen was right outside my window so there was a continuous noise from 7.00 until late into the evening. In a way, it was a plus because it was white noise that mitigated the noise...

"Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."

"Great place to stay with grwt facilities. Lovely spacious room and easy check in. The only thing was that the check out time was incorrect on Expedia to the actual check out time so had to get out of the room earlier than planned. "

"Really well located on the doorstep of the city. Had a very friendly welcome and staff were accommodating & helpful throughout. The site said it was LGBTQ friendly and it really was as a LGBT couple celebrating a wedding anniversary we felt very comfortable here. Breakfast was really nice & a decent size. The room was a good size, clean and had a nice view of the art gallery. Evening entertainment was lively & enjoyable. Will be staying here again when we next visit York."

"This Inn is out on a limb, but a lovely spot. Unfortunately, our visit was apparently just after local farmers feeding fields, which permeated the rooms. This didn't prevent us having a lovely stay. Top things were, the food (evening menu, and breakfast), the room was comfortable and clean, and the owners were pleasant and welcoming. Areas for improvement were, we had a very dusty corner of the bathroom which seemed to have been missed (despite everything else being clean), the bathroom window...
