"Unexpected large hotel with nice lobby and communal areas. Large gardens and outside spaces for warm weather visits. Convenient location near Dorking for drivers and convenient for hill walkers. Quiet during my stay which I enjoyed. Car parking unusual but satisfactory. Perhaps it was the quietness in the hotel but service could be slow."

"Extremely friendly staff great service. Very noisy road outside but they do provide ear plugs. Shower cubicle needs updating quite a bit of mould in the shower area. Overall an enjoyable stay"

"Having had a 3 hour drive down, we were greeted with a smile and two delightful rooms. Crisp linen and a smile. Food was fabulous (try the scotch eggs). Beer was good and the conversation was great. Will come back when visiting family. Fully booked for Sunday lunch so make sure you book if coming to stay. Judging by the 3 courses we had well worth booking"

Lovely welcoming touches (welcome note in the room, complimentary sweet treats, fresh milk for teas etc.); very good a la carte breakfast; comfortable room with good radio and TV, and pod coffeemaker (plastic free pods); lovely toiletries in refillable bottles in bathroom; all the satgg we met were excellent. It suited usnvery well for our stay. Be aware that there are narrow and fairly steep stairs to many of the rooms, so check that out...
