"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. "Stayed here for one night on business. Great rate for the night. Check in great. Room fantastic with a bit of wow factor upon entering. Very clean, comfy bed. Swimming pool fantastic. Fusion restaraunt food lovely but service not great. I was approached almost as soon as i sat down for food ordering but i hadnt seen the menu yet so i asked for 2 minutes. 15 minutes later a server came and apologised for the wait. Lumley Castle is a unique and amazing gem. There is so much history. The reception desk sells a book about the history, which is definitely worth purchasing.
