"This is the 3 rd time we have stayed at the Wild Boar and we decided to Upgrade our room this time . Unfortunately the shower had not be cleaned and had cobwebs hanging from It clearly Indicating it had not been cleaned throughly for some time . All staff were friendly and the meals are fantastic unfortunately the standard of cleanliness of the shower somewhat tarnished the stay as the room upgrade was significantly more expensive than the standard rooms. "

"Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. "Room clean, linen well provided, crisp and clean, bed very comfortable. Television good. Good on-siute toilet and shower . Staff friendly. Out of hours exit requires use of fire escape to poorly lit area of uneven ground. Lighting to that area needed. Otherwise carry a torch. Would defiantly stay again. "

"What a beautiful, but remote location. Our terrace room were outstanding! The views oar breathtaking. The restaurant was busy but had good selections fast, accurate service. Really enjoyed our stay."

"One of our go to places when up in Kendal for business. Clean & friendly and a good choice of things on the menu. Food is delicious! Only downfall we had was we booked a certain table for dinner one evening and one member of staff had moved us and was quite rude about it! Original table was empty the whole time we were in the restaurant! Wouldn’t have minded if she had been polite and explained why the move had been made!"

"the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant.
