CityRest Fort - Hostel

2.0 star property
7.4 out of 10, Good, (104)
"The hostel is in a great location, close to the train station and lots of great places to eat nearby. But that's the only strong point. Everything else is average at best. The place needs renovation, WiFi doesn't work, cleaning in the shared bathrooms could be improved. But the location is great. So if you are looking for 1 night near the station - this would do."

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

5.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (498)
"This is a large and busy hotel, quite convenient to the train station, and situated on one of Colombo's lovely lakes. It felt like a Vegas property, absent the casinos. "An excellent choice for the last day and night of a two week trip in Sri Lanka. Got to the hotel hours before the check in time, and was given a room straight away. There are multiple restaurants to choose from for dinner. Dinner at Ocean was fab! Cocktails at the roof top bar were nice. And the afternoon by the pool was chilled. All the staff were friendly and very helpful."
