"A very unique hotel!! beautiful in all senses! Staff and owner extremely kind!! our food incident: We left chewing gum in the shelf upon entering the room and within minutes it was full of ants. There is an instruction booklet/binder in the room which states not to bring any food in the room in bold red color font but its buried in 2 pages of information and we didn't finished reading by the time the ants got to the gum. perhaps a sign on the hotel door or a reminder during check-in would be great as the hotel is inside the forest! The owner and staff gave us a new room to ensure we would have a safe night w/o ants. Thank you!!! Great breakfast!! "

"This house and property were HUGE, with great views of the volcano and surrounding area, and had room for everyone in my large group! It was fun and quirky and just right. The breakfast was spectacular each morning. Patrick was the perfect host and helped us with terrific advice on activities and even made reservations for us. This house is definitely a "do-again!""

"What an amazing place! The rooms are open with big windows and lovely views and Mellisa has thought of everything to make the room amenable. Stove top, refrigerator, and lots of flat surfaces for luggage and bags. Great breakfast served to the room; it was the best! We really enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked another night. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you for a memorable stay!!!"

"We absolutely LOVED this precious B&B. So tranquil, amazing setting, gorgeous room, etc!! We got to see monkeys, a toucan, and a baby sloth. It was AMAZING! My only regret is we only booked it for one night, as we were heading to the Arenal Volcano. Next time we plan to stay several nights!!! LOVED this adorable Casitas!"

So nice to watch the birds every morning. Great deck to sit, swing and relax. Host helped with recommending and booking local attractions. If I’m ever back I will make sure to stay again!"

"Mike's place is stunning. The views are incredible, the birds provide endless interest, and the quiet is very peaceful. The pool is refreshing after a hot day of excursions and the ground staff or Mike are always present to turn the waterslide on for the little ones if desired. My 15 year old loved having open access to a well equipped gym. The house has every convenience you could possibly need but Mike is very responsive to any enquiry or request. Great communication. The house was also absolutely spotless! I have no idea how the cleaning staff keep up on preventing webs and nests with the high ceilings and abundance of little insects and ants (as expected in Costa Rica), but they do an incredible job. Having such a quiet, peaceful location meant that it was about a 20 minute drive back into Nuevo Arenal for restaurants, but I thought the roads were great (much better than those in Monteverde and Santa Teresa where we later stayed) and a 4x4 was not needed. Highly recommend Mike's place for any length of stay and if we were ever to return to the area, I would absolutely stay again!"

"We went for my wife's 40th birthday with multiple families with kids. It was a perfect venue and stay that was closer to the Liberia airport vs Fortuna. We had Tucans on the property, parrots, and plenty of beautiful birds. There is enough distance from each of the villas that gave you some privacy, but close enough to also feel together easily. One issue you can run into in being in the jungle is bugs, but there were no mosquitos or any issues at all staying here, definitely nothing in the houses either. Nuevo Arenal is the local town about 10 min down the road, with some great food options and local stores to get provisions as needed. Definitely more locals and low key, which was nice. The host, Coltin, was phenomenal. We had several issues arise, including forgetting an important bag at the rental car agency at the airport, and Coltin was there to help and use local connections to get it all solved (even went to pickup the bag himself!). He also arranged special cake for the birthday, balloons, and was incredibly responsive. 10/10 for him. Overall, great experience."
