"My husband and I never wanted to leave. The views of this villa are breathtaking. Santiago was able to help us with settling in quickly. Highly recommended if you have access to a vehicle. Otherwise, it may be difficult for you to reach the villa and/or utilize the hotel below for dining/etc. "

"The villa was beautiful and spacious! Only one thing the hot water wasn't working and maybe they can add a safety bar for when stepping up or out of the tub/shower because it's a high step. The host was wonderful and went out of her way to make us feel like home."

Great property just 10 minutes drive from La Fortuna

"The property is super clean and exactly like the pics/description. The outdoor pool area is the real gem as we spent most of our time there. WiFi was great. There is also a Sloth sanctuary at the beginning of the road that was an awesome experience (walkable). The property manager was a delight to commute with and we would definitely return when coming back to the area. "

"A nice home on a large and lovely property, with a pool, a pond and expect to see many different kind of beautiful birds. About 7 kms from La Fortuna, but there is a nice restaurant nearby and a grocery store in the village. Bedrooms have shelf storage but no closets or ways to hang clothing, which can be an issue for extended stays. Hot water in bathrooms only, but not in kitchen. Extra cleaning, towels, etc. readily available for extended stays."

"After spending five nights at a beach resort my family and I came to this location for a change of scenery and to experience more of what Costa Rica had to offer. The kids absolutely loved the pool and watching the birds. There were two toucans in the tree when we arrived! The housekeeper was very friendly and responsive. I could never get tired of that view! We had everything that we needed and would definitely stay here again. "

"This house is beautiful and made us feel safe and welcome on our first overseas vacation. The owner helped us find sloths in the trees and left fruit out by the patio for the birds which made our mornings even more peaceful."

"We had a rough start with communication and getting into the property when we arrived late. I was told I would get the check-in details at 2:45 pm. That did NOT happen. I drive for 4 hours and then had to wait and contact via What’sApp, which was never specified in earlier communication with the property manager/owner. "My wife and I stayed with our adult children and had a wonderful experience! The house was clean and nicely decorated, everything you need seemed to be there. The owner places fruit in the yard and the birds are waiting for him! Absolutely beautiful! The host was so nice and kind, and helpful. Five stars plus from us!"

"Such a beautiful property & great value!!! Unbelievable views from our room of the waterfall on property grounds. Photos of the property do not do it justice. We booked this very last minute due to a change of schedule due to rain & the host’s communication was very helpful. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we loved our change of plans. Not only was this property beautiful & full of hummingbirds, but Bajos del Toro was charming & had so much to offer. "

"The house is well laid out and well suited for 4 couples. Beds comfortable. Rest of furniture adequate. Only the bedrooms had A/C and that was adequate to cool the whole house. The kitchen appliances worked properly. On the negative side: One of the rooms never had hot water. The rest worked sporadically. Perhaps the instant on water heater is inadequate. The owner’s rep was unable to get one of the A/C units to adjust the temperature. The fan remotes in the common areas did not function. The...

"Nice , cute property. Rainforest feeling . Rain drops on the roof is very loud ., can bother your sleeping , but very natural rainforest feeling . Easy location to drive to town down . Hot water not working some days , that is the bad for showering . LOL . "

"My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, and the property was excellent! The cabin was clean, with a beautiul view of this little aritificial pond that had ducks and fish in it. We were only a 5 minute drive from La Fortuna for groceries, and any time we communicated with Marco, we received a prompt response."

"I stayed here four years ago and thought it was so well laid out in nature and with the pools and flowers and birds that I reserved again. The people are so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. They only need to describe it better on the menu. The portions of the appetizers are enough for a meal. The spa is beautiful. My husband and I both had massages looking at and listening to the nature outdoors. I also had one of the best facials I ever had. This hotel makes me want to come back and stay whenever I can come back to Costa Rica. It was very relaxing rain or shine. "

"This resort is very well kept and nestled in the forest. Our back patio in our private casita looked out at the forest and we saw monkeys in the trees in the morning. The massage area is so relaxing while in a private area overlooking the forest. The dining area has really good food. The staff is really nice. The pool area is very relaxing with a swim up bar. Very relaxing and beautiful all around. "

"My family loved at our stay at Casa Del Rio. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the water slide was not running while we were there, but we loved our private hot tub on our patio! Would definitely stay again."
