"We have been on a 3 week Eastern European vacation staying in high end hotels in Venice, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia. This little gem surprised us the most out of 8 hotels. "The best thing about the Hotel Charles is the Bus stop Meszaros Utca which is right in front of the Hotel coming from downtown. Going to downtown, bus stop Meszaros utca is right across the street from the Hotel. Breakfast was great, room is huge and very spacious. We loved the little kitchen area. "We stayed here for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Hotel is in a lovely quiet street near the castle and 5 mins walk from the chain bridge. The rooms are good sized, clean and the bed was huge and so comfortable. The staff, every single member we met were exceptional, helpful and even went above and beyond to sort us out transfers to the Hungaroring daily and airport. "The shower was broken. I told the concierge on the first day, and after 4 nights there it was still not fixed. It floods past my ankles and sprayed everywhere and the shower head kept falling. Additionally, my water bottles were not replaced daily (even after leaving a note asking the cleaning person). I had to ask multiple times for more toiletries. Very clean though and beautiful property. Just a little "grey gardens-y""
