The lounge is a cosy place to chill and have a drink in front of the fire places. Overall a lovely hotel that’s not far from anything, is affordable and offers so much. "This is a really, really lovely hotel. It is a little bit of a step back in time, but in a lovely way. A really grand building that has been well kept whilst it is still possible to imagine how grand it would have appeared to people when first built. It made me smile whenever I was walking around it. I was there on business, but Carlisle seems like a very interesting place ... I will be back to both Carlisle and the Crown and Mitre!"
