"Excellent location directly opposite the main train station. All major attractions are walkable. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Tea & coffee making and biscuits were great. A modern bathroom with excellent water pressure. Howe er the bed was a double bed with an uncomfortable old fashioned mattress. "We had a lovely experience at this hard-to-fault country house hotel. Noticeably, nothing looked, worn, old or tired. We slept in Room 10 which overlooks the garden and which, going by the fire safety plan on the back of the door, looks to be the largest room on the 1st floor and yes, it's big! Very comfortable 6-foot bed (proper ‘king size') and nice to have a central ceiling light as well as wall and side-table lamps. The bathroom was not huge but adequate, with a large walk-in shower...
