"Ilo Rojo is on hill, a steep hill. And at first it seems daunting, but it is worth the climb. Our room had a generous balcony/terrace that looked over the city and beyond. The staff here are extremely efficient, helpful and friendly (a special shout-out to Lupita, Martin and Angel). There is a bus stop almost outside the entrance, which runs every 5 minutes or so it seems and for a whopping 8 pesos you don't have to walk the 20 minutes to downtown (or more importantly back up.) "Gorgeous property! The courtyards are spectacular with artwork and antiques. Lovely places to spead out and relax with a book. Breakfast menu had yummy offerings with good service and loved that it was a few blocks to the square and Cathedral everything felt very safe night for walking or day. As a bonus there are some lovely rooftop bar/restarants nearby that overlook the city. Perfect for sunset. Will return. "
