"Loved the old charm but some things seemed run down like stains on the carpets everywhere. The location however was great! Downtown Monterey has lots of restaurants and breweries to walk to and very close proximity to the wharf, walking/bike trail on the water. We chose to walk the 1.5 miles to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on a beautiful sunny day with lots of wildlife to see along the way."

"Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location and we really enjoyed having a room that partially overlooked the ocean. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Cons: Our breakfast at Schooner’s was disappointing. "We arrived at Casa Munras at about 8:00PM. There was no power in the area. We were transferred to a sister property, Spindrift Inn which is located right on the Ocean in the pier area. The room was spacious and had a great Ocean view. They served breakfast in the room. The bed was comfortable. The only issue that I had is that I was charged again for the prepaid room through Expedia. When I called, I was told that I will get a refund in the next 5 days. "

My only concerns, and these are small, is that the coffee maker did not work, the card key access did not always work and this site is pretty close to the airport.
