The Northumberland gastronomy that the menu provides is very clever and an explosion of local flavours is backed up with an array of well selected wines - Albariño albeit Spanish or Portuguese is recommended. Take the time to enjoy this beautiful boutique hotel but don’t ignore the history of the town of Hexham and neighbouring enclaves. A visit to the Abbey crypt is well worth the large stepped decent and a trawl through the local antiques often uncovers a gem or two. There’s no shortage of artisan trades in this thriving town and the Indepent retail owners are testimony to the thriving town. Fantastic 3 days spent at the Beaumont. "This is my 4th visit to this excellent hotel, always on a one night stay as I am taking the Carlisle to Settle train the next day (must see!). This hotel is a great place to stay, the staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and I always get a great nights sleep here. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the station, the building is quite old and has a lot of character. Incredible value for money and well located I never consider staying anywhere else if I am staying in Carlisle. The breakfast at 10.50 pounds is well worth the money. "

"Lovely clean accommodation. We stayed out of season so parking was not an issue. Staff all super friendly and helpful. Loved the fresh milk provided for our room daily, much better than the usual UHT given at most hotels! Breakfast was fantastic, great selection and service. Would definitely recommend "
