"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. "If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. "No room keys. Not good for more than sleeping. Tried to stay 2 nights during busy Kyoto travel season. It was a mess to talk through with the staff. Window was broken and the rooms were stuffy. Cleanliness was only okay the bed was big but there was stain on sheets, if we wanted room cleaning in between days we needed to check out of the hotel, the shower had a lot of mold. Nice amenities. Far from station."
