"Where do I start. We had booked for two nights but got hit with an incredible, once in a century, snowstorm. This led to nearly 2 days of no electricity and three days of no trains leading to us needing to stay four nights instead. I can’t praise the management and staff enough for the care, service and hospitality they showered on us. What could have been a nightmare turned in to an unforgettable experience and we can’t thank them enough. "

"We only booked this hotel for one night with the view of catching the glacier express in the morning but stayed for 3 nights as the town experienced bad weather with no power. The hotel went above and beyond to make guest feel welcome on the subsequent night. They didn’t charge any of the guests for the 2nd night stay as the there was no power at the hotel (not their fault as the whole town didn’t have town, infact the whole valley was without power for 2 days. On our 3rd night they only charged us token gesture of 50 franks per person which was really cheap. Absolutely amazing staff and policy of the hotel. Amazing spacious room with spa facilities at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are definitely an asset to this hotel. "

"We loved our stay at Hotel Simi. The location is convenient to the train station, the gornergrat train, and all that the village offers. It’s also very quiet, so there’s no risk that nightlife will interfere with sleep. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding. The quality of the food is very high with a nice selection of breads, jams, juices, cheeses (the usual assortment included a Swiss mountain cheese, Gorgonzola, and an aged goat), European style yogurts, Swiss muesli, fresh fruit, and some made to order options like soft boiled or fried eggs and crêpes. The ski locker room was kept nice and tidy and we really appreciated the heated boots in the morning. Note that you can rent lockers at Bayard by the train station if you don’t like walking in boots carrying skis. The afternoon sweet treat (a rotation of cakes and fruit crumbles) and coffee was another nice touch. Finally, I want to make the point that the entire hotel is kept in impeccable condition. 4.7"
