"Excellent location, less than 10 minute walk from station and very central for shops. My room was not overlooking main street, no noise at all from outside, even though Friday night and room was lovely and warm with adjustable radiator. Bed comfy and bathroom modern with lovely shower. Nice tea and coffee tray with hot chocolate and biscuits. Lovely breakfast with delicious pastries, yoghurt, cut and whole fruit, muesli and some mini cereal boxes. Tea selection they even had Darjeeling and the...

"Christmas break to unwind and relax at this busy time and it was fantastic also sat looking at the moon outside in the jacuzzi which was extra special. The evening meal was delicious and couldn’t fault anything. A lovely breakfast the next day finishing off a perfect stay. Thank you all."

"The main house with the pub and restaurant is beautiful. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The lodges are lovely but are up a dirt track that is not brilliant in the bad weather. You cannot leave your car near the lodge either and so walking up and down to the car park and restaurant is a challenge on the mud track and there is no lighting either. The main building does not open until 8:30 am so staying here on business trips is not feasible either. Food was delicious and service excellent. "

"This was a surprise stop for us, and we were super grateful for it. The hotel had comfortable beds, great food, excellent staffing, and just a really amazing bar (please try the French 75!). Our room was a cold, and they brought us extra blankets and a space heater immediately. Very responsive and attentive to guest needs. Perhaps our only quibble, and I say this to help the staff who must want to tear out their hair during each shift, is with the music: there is a kind of easy listening...
