"A nice enough overnight stay to attend a 40th birthday celebration. Looking at the hotel interior I would guess it was built in the 1980's and has not had much ( if anything ) done to it since. It is tidy, warm and perfectly adequate, simply dated. Our T.V did not work but this was a small issue for us. We heard from other guests that this was an issue for them also."

Dinner was a challenge, the food was excellent but the front of house staff were very limited in training and had to be chased constantly for everything. "Lovely warm cosy room on a freezing night. Dinner was a bit chaotic. There were two very very noisy large tables of men, one of which had apparently been the since lunch. They were shouting non stop. The staff moved our (well behaved) table of seven to a quieter spot as nobody could hear themselves speak. The staff were very helpful and I felt a bit sorry for them having to deal with such uncivilised behaviour. Unfortunately the kitchen also had its problems as we had to wait well over an hour...
