"I know that Marriott encourage associates to greet guests with an appropriate greeting but I didn't really appreciate the young man that checked us in greeting me with "Hiya Mate". I am 61 and I was raised in Manchester. I think that is just plain rude. Staff in the Great Room were not attentive or switched on. My daughter ordered Vegetable Jalfrezi and received Chicken Curry."

"This was literally a last minute booking due to Brittania Hotel Manchester, which we had booked, falling through. Glad we made the change. Clean, modern, efficient and polite staff not hiding behind Perspex screens. A comfortable and clean room with a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfast was fine without being exceptional. Easy checkout. Note that although room service menu says some items are available 24 hours per day, there is a gap between 21.30 and 23.00 of no room service....
