"First time stay at a Novotel. If they are all as good as this one then I will be using this brand much more frequently. The staff were polite friendly and helpful, the foyer is large and well presented. I stay away at least 30 times a year and there are some things I always look for in a hotel obviously cleanliness is at the top, a decent size room with usb connection ports is good. The TV in this room was a good size, but I often prefer to use a tablet. Wifi was certainly quick enough for my small needs. I was not gaming. The bed linen was decent and the bed was an excellent foam mattress, the pillows were only OK. Another thing I think all hotels should fit are soft close toilet seats as there is nothing more annoying than one slamming down next door at stupid o' clock in the morning. Soft close seats are fitted here. As for the hotels location to York centre for us it was perfect. A 15 minute stroll along the river into town. Parking was perfect too and £16 for 24 hours in York is reasonable. We will be using this hotel again."

"Loved this hotel, had an ‘inside, with window’ room very quiet. Breakfast cooked to order so no problems. Easy to walk into York. A good choice of eating places nearby."

"We had booked a double room so were very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded on arrival to the Bridal Suite which was suitably impressive in size and furnishings with probably THE best bath you will likely find. The staff were all very friendly, courteous and helpful and The evening dining and bar are first rate (we did not try the breakfast) and equally well fitted out. The suite lacked a fridge which would have been a welcome addition for keeping drinks cool (and some actual milk for the coffee rather than sachets would be nice) particularly in such a generous sized room and the road noise was prevalent through the night due to the double height single glazing of the suite but otherwise could not fault this hotel which lives up to the heritage of its name. Would definitely recommend the Churchill Hotel as a great place to stay within easy walking distance of the centre."

"Amazing, we upgraded to a super deluxe room with rattan seating outside I used all the facilities gym, swim, steam room Breakfast was exceptional Couldn’t fault anything really Staff where super helpful "

"We stayed off away from the main build; our room was nice, nothing fancy, but comfortable; fan was provided. The main building is definitely the star of the show. I was surprised to find no lift; due to one of the reasons for choosing this hotel was because it mentioned there was a lift, not a deal breaker though. The restaurant on site was wonderful and accommodating. We enjoyed trying out the different steam rooms, swimming and relaxing in the hot tub. Note: The entrance was a little tough to spot; driving in the dark"
