"Staff are nice. They offered me free room upgrade because of 20 mins late and decorate the room for our anniversary. Which is great. Only thing i am disappointed is there is no fridge in the room and no water or toiletries supplement apart from hand wash and shower gel. "

Courtyard rooms are lovely but not overly great on soundproofing as we could hear the neighbours too easily, also, the blind in the bathroom was an awful fit to the window but overall a brilliant experience that I would do again in heartbeat. My wife and I played hide and seek in all the nooks and crannies of the castle and we’re both in our fifties so a fab place"

"Have stayed at this property a number of times. While still a good hotel the standards seem to have fallen and servicing of rooms has been cut back to every thrid day. "

"The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Room was a bit on the cold side better than too warm. Breakfast was okay but I’ve had better. Location is good easy access to town centre if your catching a train you need to allow 30 mins from checking out of the hotel to been on the platform which is a leisurely walk for an able bodied person. It’s a 10 minute walk to local auction. Staff were helpful without been over the top."

"We chose a bad day to go, there was a Christmas fare on in a marquee in the grounds and the place was packed out with every available member of staff busy in the restaurant, so there was no one mannig the reception, so, we did as the notice on the door said and asked a member of staff to check us in, and although she was rushed of her feet she got us checked in along with another couple who had also arrived.
