"An amazing stay - not my first time and certainly not my last."

"Room was very nice. Bar experience not great, this place seems to have a very flat atmosphere, not very welcoming. Offer on of Verve rose at £16 a glass but it was warm! Staff didn’t know what to do about this! Tried to prebook parking online using the code they provided on the Malmaison site. The code is invalid. Asked the receptionist to validate our parking ticket but she ‘couldn’t help’ so cost is £33 to park! This puts me off staying again now. Marriott gives parking discount at trinity car...

"Overall this is a lovely hotel. The room is great and the bed is the comfiest I think I’ve ever slept in. The shower is excellent and the staff were very friendly. The food and service in the restaurant were five star but the restaurant itself was a little chilly so we had to keep our coats on while we ate. The TV in the room was only picking up a weak signal so it was pixelating all the time and one of the handles on the window was broken and so couldn’t be opened"

"Had a lovely stay at this hotel. What a beautiful setting, the grounds were impressive and the location means it’s easy to hop onto a bus into York. The on site pub was convenient after a relaxing visit to the spa. My room was in a quiet location with lovely views. The only negative was the room was a bit chilly on waking. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again."

"I was there for half a week to explore York after a business trip to the UK. The hotel was good and the staff excellent. Breakfast was pricey and really not worth it. Go to the coffee shop across the street instead or into the old city for a good breakfast at a reasonable price."
