"Loved the unique features - a free snack pantry (sweets, drinks, fruit etc.), traditional record player in each room and records to pick and choose from, quirky but tasteful decorations. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable, clean, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with easy to use push button bath/shower (no trying to work out which knob or lever to push or pull!), very comfortable underfloor heating in the bathroom. Lovely, comfortable lounge and bar and excellent restaurant."

"Perfect location for walking into the city or to the railway station (no more than 10-15mins). Stayed in the delux double bedroom in the annex. Confused as room didn’t match the images on their website. Duty manager informed and he agreed and apologised. For a delux room would have expected more luxuries, the only benefit seemed to be size of room and en-suite. Breakfast options ok, but as for advertising continental options, only saw yoghurt "

"We had a very nice time. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel itself because we were exploring the city and we checked out very early in the morning. The best thing to me was how nice the staff was. Really friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Location was quiet but very convenient, and the private parking was a plus for us."

"What a wonderful little place. Myself and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights. There is nothing not to like about this place. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, the room (No.6) was really nice, with a wonderful shower. We had breakfast, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place, as it is close to York also. Would definitely love to return one day. "
