"The overall experience at the Garden Rooms was good. We would return, though there were a few things which disappointed us. The large sliding doors to the outside were very difficult to open. We are not feeble but it was almost impossible to slide due to being very heavy and stiff. The room itself smelt very strong of wood smoke from the chimnea, we did not use it during our stay. "We enjoyed our recent stay here. The room was excellent with a spotless new bathroom and comfortable bed. Better pillows would have been nice but not a problem for a short stay. The food was very good but the service rather slow. We weren't in any hurry but 30-40 minutes to produce breakfast after ordering seemed a bit excessive. "The location of this property enjoyed a privileged location overlooking the castle. However it was disappointing to enter the property through quite a shabby doorway from the Main Street. The property Was spread over 3 floors, which were linked by a very narrow spiral staircase. This was not made clear in the advert and would not suit elderly or disabled people. We took the property as it was dog friendly, quite the reverse, our dog is quite old and could not manage the very narrow staircase, so...

"Really enjoyed our stay in Alnmouth at Hallsteads, Pope Lodge . The decor and furnishings are very smart. There is a lovely seating area outside too. The accommodation is very central for all Alnmouth has to offer. Just a couple of things to note: there is no shampoo and shower gel. The ‘instruction’ manual is tatty and needs updating to reflect what the owner expects visitors to do with recycling. Some hints and local knowledge on what tourist attractions, walks etc, the area has to offer...
