"My partner and I came to visit Alnwick for her birthday, and after a previous stay at a Premier Inn, we decided we wanted something with more character. The Hog’s Head Inn is a really lovely hotel, and considering it broke ground in 2011, has a feeling of being built in the 1800s, with the wood and stone decor in the main bar area. Rooms were a really good size, and very clean. Great water pressure from the shower (which is a big plus for us!) and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. I...

"You have to understand you're staying in a heritage building, within a town centre, above a busy, excellent pub/resteraunt. To some extent, the bedroom is a secondary consideration. However, staff very friendly, room warm & comfortable, food excellent and ideal for exploring Alnwick. Great stay, but don't expect the Ritz. "

"Lovely hotel and very nice staff. Very conveniently located in the town and for visiting the castle. We gave 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) although they allow dogs in the rooms, they're not allowed in the breakfast room so they suggested we either left our dog in our room on her own (which we did and she barked continuously) or we breakfast separately - most places have a dog-friendly eating area; and 2) parking is quite a challenge. Otherwise, a lovely stay."

"The pub was very welcoming and made you feel at home. The Tankerville Arms is on the side of the road in a little village which is very quiet. The food and service was excellent and very friendly staff. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We would highly recommend this hotel for a stay"
