" nice comfortable hotel, not aware of a so called cashless policy, when i was in possession of good old cash,and,not knowing the balance of my card. my wife and i had to dine out else where,'' your barman needs further training,came across as surly,could;nt be bothered to call last orders or better still ask customers if they required another drink before closing the bar,,, other than that ok"

"Lovely old building which I prefer to modern buildings. Room was small but comfortable. No parking but not a problem for us. Didn’t eat there but it’s an option. Good choice of beers etc. The pub is nice and historical, clean so quite happy with our stay."

"I’ve stay at this hotel when it had the previous owners. Even know it’s in a middle of having a refurbishment the hotel was extremely clean and tidy, only one problem was the pillows being extremely thin. It was a really nice touch to have a kettle in the room but maybe have spoons instead of wooden sticks. But apart from that it’s all coming along nicely, i definitely prefer the key card instead of an actual key. Me and my partner will be back!"

At very short notice and without a booking we were found a table and dining for 5 people in the very busy restaurant so allowing us to have an evening meal and get to a show at the local theatre. Top marks. Having been prompted to reserve a table for breakfast on Sunday morning we turned up at our reservation time only to be told that there were no tables available. "Staff members were excellent, extremely kind and helpful. They work very hard. Breakfast was excellent. Evening menu could be better. The hotel lacks a lounge area for guests. The car park is inadequate and difficult to negotiate. View from the terrace is lovely. "
