"The staff were all excellent and attractive. The room was comfortable. The spa-bath in our en-suit was a lithe noisy but fun. We enjoyed a swim in the pool, not huge, but not busy. The only negative was breakfast was not very hot but otherwise the restaurant dinner was lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Great location for exploring the south lakes and Furness peninsula. "

"Mainly fine. Friendly check in. Don't like the fact that my card was debited £50 despite assurance it wouldn't be. I had already paid so why the debit on my card? Hoping this is refunded ASAP .I understand a swipe in case of damage etc , but they should definitely not have taken a debit from it without my authority. BLACK MARK FOR THIS. A suggestion would be to provide disposable shower/bath sponges. Also bedroom walls are very thin meaning enforced listening to next room's conversation....

"Great stay for one night in the half term break. The guy who checked us in was great, saw my struggle with the vast amount of stairs (i have a dodgy knee) he moved us to a first floor room instead of second floor! Room was clean and tidy, seemed to be newly decorated with new furniture! Great view across the sea, and even though it was on the front the noise from traffic wasn't too bad. Just a few things that could do with a little look in to are the curtains, don't hang properly and let light...

"We stayed at the Clarenden for one night. Communication leading up to the stay was excellent. The hotel was traditional with original features but comfortable for the modern guest. The room was quite small but comfortable and clean. It was a very cold night leading up to the recent storm and the room was quite cold. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay. "
