"Lovely hotel with kitchenette and in-room laundry facilities located close to the train and bus station. The hotel’s location made this a great base for making day-trips to surrounding areas. Walking around Takayama itself was also a breeze. Front desk staff were always super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and tidy. Check-in and check-out process was efficient. Housekeeping options were brilliant – loved the choices that we had as well as the method of communication (attaching one of three magnetised signs to the door). Thank you so much for a very pleasant 6-night stay, Residence Hotel Takayama Station!"

"We loved our stay here - our room was large and comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect - so close to the station but also walkable distance to all the main sights. Only downside to our room was that there are no windows to open and the one window was frosted. Beware that while there are lifts inside, it’s about 30 steps up to reception which can make for a challenging time with luggage! "

"Hotel was well clean and close to a 7/11 and restaurants. The front desk lady spoke Spanish which made it easy for me to communicate with since I don’t know Japanese. She was amazing and very helpful. 5 star to her too"

"An exceptional hotel that ticks all the boxes for me. Wonderful staff and service. Location is very convenient with a Family Mart a stone’s throw away and close to the Old Town with lots of restaurants and shops. The onsen is a bonus. Free drinks in the evening are very welcome. Love it!"
