"It is an older era quaint property and if you can accept that you will enjoy! Our family played at the pool table one night and had so much fun! It has beautiful private grounds, helpful staff and had a gorgeous view of the volcano from our room. Definitely need a 4x4 car to traverse the steep windy driveway in (there are signs that say “halfway there, trust” lol) but worth it as so private but so close to Fortuna!"

All staff were great, and treated us with kindness and helpfulness. Upon arrival, we were greeted with ice cold lemonade, which was much appreciated after a long day in the warm weather. "Driving up to the property on the mountain roads may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely loved it. Once there the staff was welcoming, property, unique, and beautiful, and the things to do in and around the property are very worthwhile."

"This hotel is situated in a jungle! There are toucans, chachalacas, curassows, hummingbirds, thrushes, wrens …. The staff is amazing: everyone is so friendly and accommodating! The chefs prepare delicious foods. Can’t say enough good things about it!"

"Our stay at Puerto Azul Hotel Y Club Nautico was good overall. They accommodated our very late check-in at 1:30 am, which was appreciated since our flight was late getting into San Jose. The breakfast was good, and we also attended a boat tour to Tortuga Island, which departed directly from the docks at the hotel, which was very convenient. "The room was exactly as depicted on the website. Breakfasts were great, and we saw some beautiful birds right on the property (motmot and parrot). We were given misinformation about a tour and were told that the park entrance fee was included but it was not. Overall, we would stay at this property again."
