We even had an incident where the door locked in the bathroom and the night front desk came to change out the door handle! "Great value for money. The hotel is being refurbished. My room was spotless. The mattress is comfy (though the pillows weren’t too comfortable). New TV, a kettle with tea/coffee well laid out. A microwave oven with a few plates to use for good, was a welcome addition. Receptionist George is friendly and welcoming. I am pleasantly surprised. "

"This was a remarkable historic place to stay with so much architectural character in the old building. Just sitting in the bar having a drink by the huge historic fireplace was a wonderful experience! The grounds, walk to the canal and adjacent church were equally amazing.
