"Just stayed one night, was given a room that is designed to accommodate wheelchair access, so spacious and with a big bathroom. Enjoyed the nachos with chilli, and the beef and ale pie which were excellent, as was the cooked breakfast. Good choice of local ales at the bar. All in all very comfortable and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. "

"I stayed in found floor room. Looked tired and is need of decorating. Shower was adequate-plenty of hot water but not very powerful. Windows needed cleaning. Room on whole was clean although stain on duvet cover. Bed comfy. Not staff at hotel so you had to phone through to another hotel for assistance. No food available and a list of take away places for breakfast. "

"The staff were lovely especially the breakfast lady who works really hard. My room was clean and comfortable apart from the stains all over the carpet, perhaps a couple of rugs would go nice. "

"This was a lovely place with wonderful staff. The dinner was superb. My only reason for a 4 rating and not 5 is because the bed I had was old with mattress springs poking me. I had to take the duvet and put half of it under me. I can't speak for the other beds in the building, but mine was definitely not comfortable. "

"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."
