"The hotel is such a great location & lovely inside. The cons: no fridge which can be tough if you have a little one. Also, no charge point for electric toothbrushes. Parking is a gamble. There are paid for parking nearby but a shame the parking spots aren’t reserved for guests. Also, we got stung by the breakfast drinks. We didn’t realise until the end how much we were spending on hot chocolates & lattes. I think the hotel should give you a bill at the end of each breakfast so you are made aware...

Eden below Kirkoswald The trip on the River Eden from Lazonby to Armathwaite starts with a placid section between broad floodplain fields. The left bank, opposite Kirkoswald, is a low-lying flat area enclosed by a broad sweeping bend. Occasional trees line both banks, but the river is wide enough that none provide any sort of hazard this early in the trip.
