"This hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of town. Check-in was swift and efficient. Our room had a terrible view of a roof top. Personally, not a fan of laminate flooring in bedrooms, prefer carpet. The T.V was small and not great, and the room had no desk or chair, it was a bit small and a bit spartan. However, the beds were pretty comfortable with nice bedding. The bathroom had a few issues, like the extractor fan not working and the toilet not flushing too well. The...

"Been staying here for years used to be great with the pool and steam room gym etc now they arent in use..dissappointing.. nice clean room as always good shower and bath lovely staff..only downside now is a bad smell going through reception like a drain smell which needs addressing"

"Wonderful stay. We booked it to break up a trip back home from the Highlands in Scotland. We were welcomed on arrival with a quick check in and then we had a lovely walk round the lake. The food was lovely and the drinks well priced. Wednesday night was quiz night which we really enjoyed. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. We will definitely stay again. "

"Second time saying here, and hopefully not the last. Really well located for exploring Cumbria and Hadrians Wall destinations. AD122 bus which takes in those locations stops right outside hotel. Really friendly staff, great breakfast, super clean rooms. Older building so expect some sloping floors and walls off-plumb. Bedrooms are upstairs with no lift, but not a problem for us. Great value, with bar serving goid food and real ale. Can’t ask for much more. "
