"Just awful 😞 a large empty car park except for one car and a smashed glass bar door covered up with a piece of plywood greeted you when you drove in. It spoke volumes really. We checked in which was pleasant enough by a helpful young man, and checked out again 5 minutes later. Not a good sign when the cleaning team were still cleaning the bedrooms at 4.30pm. But the main thing was the overwhelming smell of the corridors and the rooms was enough to make your eyes water and you could still smell...

"The room was basic, but it was spacious and clean and the price was fair. We appreciated the ample free parking after several nights fighting for (and paying a small fortune for) a parking spot for our rental car. We walked into the cute village of Retford (maybe a mile away) and had a drink and snack at Rondo Lounge which was a neat place. The breakfast at the Best Western was fine for the price and the staff was friendly. I recommend it if you are looking for a safe, clean place to sleep."

"Nice hotel. Staff all friendly and helpful. Food good. Dining & public spaces all good; some 'interesting' wall art. My bedroom was a good size but the furniture tired, and it felt a bit dated; the bathroom however, was great. The corridoors in the part of the hotel I stayed in had plastic covering over them; not sure why. I can't comment on the pool/spa facilities, as annoyingly I forgot to bring my swimware with me 🙄 Would stay again. Ps: This may be a bit random, but I loved the...

"Had a two night stay here. Room was clean and tidy. Bed comfortable. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities all available in the room. Had a couple of problems-light switch not working and the plug in the sink got stuck. Mentioned them and they were sorted very quickly. The restaurant across the way was great for breakfast and dinner. All in all a great stay!"
