"The hotel is good and up to date. The bed was good. Staff are very friendly and try very hard but had limited English which made some dealings a bit frustrating. The restaurant/bar was another story - the food was not good, (we only gave it one chance) and everyone has to pay a 500 yen cover charge even to have a drink at another time which wasn’t communicated to us prior. The maître de was unfriendly."

"Very conveniently located near the Takayama train station. Great hot-spring baths and 3 private baths for those who are not used to a shared environment. Very walkable city with lots of great restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance. The historical part of the city is only 10-15 minutes of walking distance. Buffet breakfast was delicious but would recommend exploring local restaurants that serves breakfast as well."

"The property is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and a nice take on the western-Japanese rooms. The location is convenient being right next to the train station and bus terminal. "Chisun Grand is just 3 mins’ walk from Takayama station. This is my second time staying at the same exact hotel in Nagoya as I liked it for its location. Hotel room is clean, big by Japanese standards ( I had a twin share). The bath room is also larger than average hotel bath room size. Hotel is near Miyagawa morning market ( 5 mins’ walk) along the river. Enjoy the cool breeze against rushing waters in the river, where you can find carps, fishes, ducks and birds . For example, with another guest accidentally took our umbrella from a common storage area, staff drove us to a store and purchased a replacement umbrella for us. We could not have asked for more. "Hotel that's literally facing the train station, despite that it's not noisy. There aren't a great deal of trains that go through the area. Some shops relatively close by, though a good 10 mins walk to where the action is. Hotel itself is nice and clean and friendly staff. Dropped off my baggage as I arrived a good few hours before checkin. No hesitation staying here again."
