"This hotel is unique in that, apart from the excellent rooms and service, I think it would be difficult to find a place anywhere with such lovely views of a river, a harbour and scenery that is picture postcard beautiful."

"Had a lovely stay in a superior room. Every thing was very clean, in the room and the hotel bar/lounge. The room it's self was huge, we had a jacuzzi bath and a four poster bed. The bed was lovely and comfortable. All the staff were very attentive and chatty. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to give this hotel a go. The rooms are exceptional value compared to others in the area of the same price."

"Hotel room was perfect for a family very comfy beds and pillows, shower was a delight felt like i was getting a massage. Swimming pool was nice but changing rooms and toilets needed cleaning very dirty and run down. Food was very dissapointing and restaurant washy even open on the Tuesday night so had to find somewhere to eat. Breakfast was poor 13.95 for a full english and left a lot to desire for portion size and taste. Had some cheesy chips for lunch that were undercooked and tasteless....

"Stayed 3 nights. Fast check in. The two men there were lovely. Greeted us each time. It was in a great location. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants. The hotel itself is old but comfy. Room was clean for the most part. Found an old beer can behind the table when looking for a plug. Enjoyed the breakfast. Overall it was a good stay."

"My colleagues who stayed there were appalled at the state of this place . The room was filthy and look at the state of the shower screen - covered in Algae . The pictures on Hotels.com look good but probably taken about 10 years ago when the place was last cleaned . The boys were given another room but it was just as bad so they checked out without staying there at all. "

"Excellent, hotel was lovely and very easy to find, close to the shops/ town centre. The hotel was gorgeous and worth paying extra for ! The staff were very lovely and helpful, it was a really pleasant stay. Super easy check in and out also! The only negative was that in our room, we only had shampoo and conditioner, there was a stunning bath but no bubble bath or soap to actually enjoy it. This was a very minor negative over our whole experience though, we will definitely be returning! "

"An ideal base geographically for chosen sight seeing locations along with meeting up with friends. Disappointed that the room was not within the original 17 century building with so much character. I was allocated a ground floor room in a relatively new block at the rear of the property. "Very attractive gastro pub off the beaten track. Excellent food and range of drinks. I was fortunate the weather was glorious so an evening in the beer garden was appreciated. The room was a good size if only a little dated. The large sash window offered little in sound proofing but had the most glorious view across a field of sunflowers. Breakfast was ordered and freshly served in the main dining hall. You could tell the produce was fresh and locally sourced. Very appetising. In all a very...
