"Check in was quick and efficient, I managed to get a parking space in the hotel car park, although there are not many overall, the room was clean and tidy with lots of storage space and plenty hangers for clothing, the bathroom was very clean and well stocked. Breakfast was self service which for hot food was no better than say a Premier Inn breakfast, which was disappointing for this type of hotel. My room was quite a distance from reception and I had to traverse intermediate stairs that might be an issue for less ambulant persons. "

"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!)
