"Perfectly clean and functional. Sofa bed for my second child wasn't up to scratch and the quality of all the mattresses was pretty poor to be honest. Also the heating was on (in June) and the room was BOILING. Man working at reception couldn't have done enough for us though. Lovely service. "

"Fantastic location. Refurbished bedroom was fabulous. Some areas of the property are a little tired but undergoing refreshments and so I am Sure will be lovely. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Most staff were friendly and helpful. A couple were brief and seemed liked they would rather be elsewhere, but nothing to put me off going again."

"Slightly tired rooms but a lovely pub/restaurant with great staff. Fantastic location just at the top of the high street and only a couple of minutes from the National Trust property. A bit noisy but that’s the price you pay for the location. Recommended!"

"1) Traditional pub room for 2 night stay 2) Friendly & helpful staff esp “Liz” 3) Food very good (excellent English bedroom) 4) After midnight you need to ring a mobile for staff to let you in 5) Freeview reception in room #3 was patchy 6) Approx 6 parking spaces from & rear (some street parking also) 7) Free Wifi is one of those “sign-up” marketing ones which I declined good 4G receptions "

"Beautifully thought out, clean and fresh, shows what small hotels can offer."

"We stayed at the Rose & Crown 19th and 20th June 2024. Nice room with tea / coffee facilities. Parking in pubs own parking area at the back of the hotel. There is a beer garden where we had fish & chips and must say it was the best fish & chips we have ever had. Next morning we had full English breakfasts with tea or coffee and plenty of toast. All on all excellent value for money."
