"Winston and his team were amazing - they were friendly and helpful. The property was great - reasonably priced, nice breakfast, clean, colorful and located very close to Barrio Escalante - great coffee and dining options. The train ran by during the day and early evening but didn’t bother us. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return!"

Communication from Villas De La Selva was excellent with Simon setting up a tour for us and providing important information. He was there with a friendly smile to greet us when we arrived; he showed us to our villa and was available throughout our visit. "This hotel has seen better days, still nice and clean, except the windows, shower is interesting good luck finding hot. Staff have good enough English. Restaurant is Korean/ Japanese fusion, that was ok, sushi looked better . "

"Really good option, at walking distance to the city center. Staff is great and welcoming, and the place is a great place to start or finish (or both) a trip to Costa Rica. The place has a 'good-hostel-vibe', has an associated parking garage nearby (at a cost) and it is safe and quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Just be aware that restrooms are shared - which were not specified when we first made the reservation. "

Great sodas located on the first floor, under the hotel. Very good price overall. Someone here complained: The hot water is near the beginning of the knob as opposed to the back. There are some roaches in the bathroom and they stayed near there, which is the only downside. "

"The staff (Daniella in particular) was so very accommodating; they helped us greatly with scheduling tours; arranging transportation; suggestions for dining. The hotel itself was very uniquely designed compared to hotels in the US. Monkeys joining us for breakfast was an unanticipated treat."

"We (4 adults) enjoyed our stay very much. Finding this hidden treasure off the main road was a little difficult the first time, but we learned the visual landmarks quickly. We felt VERY secure inside the Suites and it was quiet and relaxing. Located in a neighborhood, we had very pleasant interactions with the local residents and frequented the grocery store nearby. David, the Manager, was WONDERFUL with communication and photos showing us where to park, how to gain entrance and get to our rooms...
