I would say that the area around the hotel was... not what you'd think of when you think Singapore. But it's also a lot cheaper, and food/transportation options were more than good enough. I would say definitely take a cab to/from the hotel on arrival/departure because it's not super easy to get you and your luggage to the airport. "
