"Very much enjoyed my stay, and the facilities were perfect for a low maintenance solo backpacker. Angel, especially, was a great front desk agent/concierge and made sure my check-in and stay were top-notch. I enjoyed getting to know him during my brief stay. The hotel is very much self-serve otherwise - with your room door code sent in advance and very little staff around most of the day - which allows for a high degree of independence and solitude. "

Rooms are more rustic but have modern combo locks on dorrs. our lock malfunctioned, so we were upgraded to the deluxe "house". "Samara Pacific Lodge is a hidden gem for our Samara adventure! The location was perfect. We could walk to the beach for some surfing in the mornings, then head into town for delicious local eats in the afternoons. In the evenings, the pool area was a lifesaver!
