"Great location! Amazing hospitality! Fantastic breakfast! The staff at the Wheatlands Lodge Hotel is top notch. My brother caught the flu right before we left the States for England and developed a cough that could not be tamed during our trip. When we made it to York, Wheatlands was able to secure a second room for me during one of the busier times of the year (the annual Food & Drink Festival) so I could get some much needed rest after not sleeping for several days due to said cough. ...

"Highly recommend to young and experienced travelers. We got in and they showed us to our comfortable room. The bathroom and the kitchen were upstairs. It worked for me as I was able to sleep ten hours through the night. It was great to meet friendly travelers and enjoy breakfast and snacks with them. "The owner and staff are lovely and made us feel incredibly welcome. Unfortunately the room needs some upgrading and TLC, the sink didn’t work and the carpet was rather grimy. The toilets and showers are in need of repair and cleaning, we had breakfast once but again it wasn’t overly clean so decided to go elsewhere after that. Really friendly and welcoming group of people."

"Excellent location near the river. 5min drive from York designer outlet 10 min drive in to the centre of York Was a little worried being next to a very busy pub. We got back about 2130 hrs and it had already closed So very peaceful. Left us milk,bread,butter,eggs & tea coffee sugar, excellent stay throughly enjoyed will be a returning customer"
