"This property is amazing. Six individual lofts with two private terraces to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the mist over the vulcano (back terrace) or bask in the rising sun and sounds of the surrounding birds and wildlife. The grounds are perfectly manicured and the foliage creates privacy and a feeling of being in nature. I am squirmsh about bugs and critters, but there were virtually no bugs and I saw mostly beautiful, unique birds while there. It was close to everything. We walked to breakfast and the supermarket. Dinner was a 5-10 minute drive to some truly delicious, world-class food by any standards. La Fortuna is truly is a special place. And Bauma makes the experience unforgettable. One thing that could be improved is the signage of where to enter and exit wasn't clear. Thankfully, we were never exiting or entering at the same time as another car, otherwise one of us would have had to reverse down a very narrow, foliage-covered driveway. It's a tiny thing that can easily be remedied with clearer signage, so it didn't detract from our stay and we are already planning to come back."

"As soon as we arrived to the airport, our transportation to Xandari was there with a sign and my name, the driver spoke Spanish and English & helped us ease in to speaking more Spanish with him in a very helpful way. Upon arriving we were waiting for our room, so we had breakfast, Delicious!! And too many options to have them all in one day, glad we had breakfast there 2 mornings. Then we were accommodated by our room being offered to us early, since it was available. We had a hot tub & massage session that morning that was exactly what our travel worn bodies wanted! So greatful. We were offered to plant.a young tree for us to visit in future years- what a great experience and way to help us connect to the ecology of Costa Rica! The staff were very helpful & friendly. I cannot wait to return to see our tree, relax & enjoy Costa Rica again."

"I stayed at this facility primarily for access to birding opportunities. The trails are in excellent condition and easy to walk if you’re in decent shape. I did get some of my target birds, and did not run into many people at all on the trails. There is lots of good birding opportunities within a few short drives of this location too. Food was excellent and room very comfortable "

"lovely modern bungalows with beautiful surroundings. private. quiet. great views of the volcano. staff were friendly. breakfast included and was great lots of variety. fantastic stay did not want to leave!! We had a rental car which is convenient as the resort is about 1/2 km from the main road. will return to this resort in the future. "
