"I liked that the location is away from the busy are, yet close enough. Good English support. We went up the hill and explored, which I would recomment if you want to get away from the crowd. Just a few good quality shops and art galleries, and restaurants up the hill."

We also had good fun playing ping pong in the game room, and the massage chairs were an added bonus. Great location too. We appreciate all the attention to details that made our stay memorable. "I stayed for 2 nights and received impeccable service, I ate well, rested well and slept well. I choose the Japanese style room with a mountain view and had a relaxing time soaking at the onsen. They had 3 different area of public bath and I enjoyed the rooftop onsen the most, I even woke up at 6.30am to catch the sunrise with Mount Yufu. The lounge area is so aesthetically pleasing, really calms your soul and allows you to chill and unwind. I went for half board and food was excellent, presentation and taste was perfectly executed, I was so well taken care of by the host and I hope to come back again ^^ Japanese hospitality at its best, will totally recommend Ryokan Hachisunoito! "

"I love that this hotel was completely different than what I expected. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised by the bed & breakfast style of the hotel and the nostalgic memorabilia displayed throughout the hotel as well. The staff was very informative and accommodating to my needs while speaking english. I felt right at home. The free hot chocolate was delicious which I sipped graciously in the living room after a hot soak in the private onsen. I had such a relaxing experience. I am looking forward to visiting Yufuin again and returning to this hotel! "
