"Our family group of 10 has come several times in the winter. Beautiful house and location. The great room with huge fireplace and view of the Blue Ridge is perfect for hanging out in the winder, and the big and well-equipped kitchen is excellent for big family dinners.This time, a big winder storm presented some winter challenges, and the host did a great job of making things right. "

"Our weekend was perfect! We loved the view and the hike to the waterfall was so peaceful (smaller than anticipated when we got there, but still beautiful). The house was decorated to be so homey and comfortable with lots of games to choose from when we wanted a break from the TV. We were snowed in but felt so comfortable the whole weekend! It lives up to the hype!"

"We really enjoyed our stay in the house. It is exactly as pictured except even quieter and more peaceful. It's very remote but still only twenty minutes from shopping in Luray. House was well stocked with all of the essentials and made for a nice break in the country."

"Hubby and I were in town for a wedding with our 21 year old son. We were walking distance from some great local stops and just a short drive from anything we needed and plenty to do. Next trip we’d like to take advantage of hiking options we didn’t have time for this trip. Sooooo much better than a hotel, this place is loaded with character and comfort touches a plenty and provided everyone a nice balance of privacy and togetherness! Great stay!"

"The house was a beautiful, old farmhouse house. There were notes all around, giving clear guidance on where things were located. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. My favorite part was the large dining room table that allowed everyone to sit down and eat together. I would definitely stay there again."

"Our extended family enjoyed a long weekend in sleepy Luray. It was beautiful and the Sterling was great. The property is right off of Main Street, and there is quite a bit of street noise in the rooms in the front of the house. There is also a fire station a few doors down, and that alarm is very loud (went off four times over a four day stay). I would recommend sound machines or ear plugs. "

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well-equipped home with picturesque Mountain views and unbelievable night sky. The absolute ideal spot to relax, recharge, and unwind. It is a short drive for lunch at The Black Twig in Sperryville, dinner at Paddy O’s in Washington, or to access the Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. "We love Whipporwill Manor! The house has everything you can think of - seriously, everything! Our group took advantage of the bikes, the fully equipped kitchen, the ample space for lounging and playing chamber music, and the perfectly suited bedrooms for our configuration. The property is gorgeous and the home is cozy. I can’t recommend this listing enough!"
