"Very convenient location for exploring York. Surprisingly quiet considering it's above a pub. It was a bit dilapidated, but very clean. Couldn't get the TV to work, and felt awkward to ask for assistance, since there's no front desk, just the pub. "

"This was a very cute and fun place to stay at the end of our trip to England. The staff is so friendly and our room was comfortable. The spaces in the hallways were quite tight, but we enjoyed the rustic feel of the place and our English breakfasts. "Check out on the Hotels.com website says 12:00 noon check out but its 11:00 am, main carpets need cleaning and a little paint in the room wouldn't go a miss Toilet takes required to pump the flush. TV signal on and off. Would stay again even though a few minor points.also first time ever I've seen a insect trap in the room at the side of the Bed and I've travelled the world."

"A nice break away for a few days in York. The hotel is very central right next to Bootham Bar. Room large, cleans and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and large portions. The only problem was no parking on site and having to park at a nearby carpark cost £34 per day !!"
