"What a lovely spot.So clean and fresh.Once unpacked we were welcomed by the gentle retriever and cat.Really quiet and restful.Welcomed each morning by the cat waiting at a window for a head scratch. Next time we sre down that way we will stay again.Host was awesome."

"It was a good place to stay. Great location. Well furnished, with nice beds and a high pressure shower. However there was no firewood, and the fire pit outside was not there if I’m being picky. Overall perfect for families and much better than staying at a motel!"

"The property was exactly as described - a beautiful little 1915 original cottage decorated in the old NZ bach style right across the road from a fabulous West Coast driftwood covered beach.Beach great for the dog as well as having a fully fenced back yard at the cottage.Very well looked after & generous hosts have left out records, toys, books for guests to make use of.Stayed for 5 days & loved it."

Relax and unwind at magical Kai Iwi beach!

"Loved the stunning bouquet of fresh flowers on the kitchen table on arrival. Moved them into the lounge and enjoyed them for our 4 days/3 nights. Loved the privacy the property provides, being able to watch the sunset from the double bed, to see the sea as I cleaned my teeth. Nice to have the morning sun in the kitchen. Appreciated arriving to ice cubes in the freezer ready to make Mojito's. Like the deck to chillax on in the morning and watch the waves.Like the later 11am check out too. Enjoyed...

"The house was great for our family of 6 adults with 4 bedrooms. Plenty of games and books provided. It is 'rustic', bathrooms are basic and the paintwork a bit patchy, but plenty of cookware provided and washing machine and dryer, as well as a fireplace."

"Our stay was amazing, although the road noise in the two front rooms where annoying I guess it's only until the road is opened again on state highway 1. The venue was lovely and we all enjoyed the 1920s theme, we even dressed in period clothing for dinner on the sat night. The house was well set up with everything we needed, and close to visiting the mountain. I would recommend this venue, especially for large groups."

"We loved our stay at “The Dunes”.Great property and had everything we needed.The views and sunsets were spectacular.Having 2 decks gave options to dine.Great communication with the host.It was clean and tidy. We will be back!"

Lots of lovely seating both inside and out for relaxing, great eclectic collection of books and artworks. Host was great to communicate with. Would love to visit again. One little suggestion- info for tv use, on departure requests etc would be great. "
