"Good news : Everything from here is a downhill walk. Everything was clean, modern, and in good repair. My first floor single on the all female floor was very cozy. Window opened. Desk top fan provided. No air conditioning. The first day my room was VERY hot when I returned because the summer sun was beating into my room. "Was happy with the staff at United..unfortunately not so impressed with 'wotif' ( third party booking ).. Got to United only to find there was no room available ( one i had book 2 months in advance)..Had booking references Numbers and whats more ..i actually rang the hotel 2 minutes after i had made the booking ( just to confirm) and they said yes all is fine?? After a 45 minute wait while staff located us a room we had somewhere to stay..( myself and my two sons) one of which was flying out...

"Awful. No bath mat, soap, bin, glass/cup. Filthy lockers, poop in toilet. Holes in walls, filthy walls. Tv ripped off wall. One neighbour making disgusting noises, clearly very ill. Another screaming super offensive abuse. Nearly called police. Extremely upset. Felt very unsafe."

"We booked this property because it was a handy location, unfortunately we had also booked it because it said we could have 3 separate beds and because I was booking it for 3 students that didn't really know each other it was appropriate they have their own beds. I have just been told they were only provided with a double and single bed. This has put me in a rather awkward position. They were not confident to ask for this to be changed."

"The most disappointing thing about this place was the bathroom facilities. There was mould everywhere in the shower - up the walls, on the ceiling. The shower curtain looked liked it hadn't been changed in decades...it was scary to touch. The place also smelled of cigarettes....not very pleasant. While it is a hostel, I have certainly stayed in better hostels both in Auckland and major cities around the world. By far the worst hostel I have stayed in."
