The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent, gluten free options available. Parking is a little confusing - there is a garage attached to the building that is a flat fee but there are variables to whether you are charged more. Parking was $60NZ, we arrived at 12pm and left at 10am Monday morning.

The staff was very accommodating, friendly and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable and valued. The breakfast food was delicious, plenty and diverse. All in one we had excellent service and will definitely stay here again. The location of this hotel is fantastic. You can walk mostly everywhere. It’s also in very close proximity to the bus station, ferry station and the shops. Thank you Holiday Inn Staff for a great stay!

The Holiday Inn Express was a great hotel, right in middle of all the action we wanted. The breakfast was beyond good, variety and quality. The only issue we had was we ordered a pizza from the reception, in hotel menu and it was awful, and very expensive for what we received. In Vancouver the Holiday Inn Express where we always stay when we’re traveling offers complimentary tea and coffee. We were charged $5 for a cup of lukewarm black tea. Not impressed!! The staff were very accommodating!! Thanks you !

The property was central to the shops. The only issue was the elevators, when one was down, it took a while to get into another as there were tons of ppl waiting. It would have been nice to use the stairs to get to Ground level from 2 if possible as there were a lot of ppl that wanted to do that.

The one drawback to this hotel is the elevators. You have to get one elevator to get up to ground floor , then switch to another for reception and rooms. There was always a line and people crammed in to the best of their abilities. Breakfast was okay, again line for limited access to coffee. The staff was wonderful and the room was great.

The staff on the weekend seemed to not understand customer service. Even when there were queues at Reception they did not acknowledge the other customers waiting in line. The weekend manager Sam seem more preoccupied to help one customer than to look at the fact that there were other customers waiting in line. We went down to Reception to have a drink, the side serving drinks was not even attended to. Another group that were there said they waited 10 minutes before they had to approach the other side of the counter to remove recognise. They do not seem to be aware of the customers around them and seem to be simply focused on the one person in front of them. They are unaware of their surroundings? I am unsure whether this is through lack of training or this is the way they run the establishment. Will look at booking elsewhere in the future, not this one.
